Review of the 35mm ltd

I was looking for reviews of the 35mm ltd which I'll be buying tomorrow, when I came accross this excellent review which I thought others might find interesting.

I read that article too! And yes, I own a 35 limited (bought, sold, bought again for those keeping score).

There was another discussion about this here:

It's a pretty incredible hunk of glass. Kickstarted my Limited habit (3 and counting!).

It's magnificient, and a keeper. I would argue that the same can be said for all of the limited lenses, although I only own one of them. But from the readings and reviews that I have seen, I think it is a safe assumption.

Its really simple. If someone likes macro, should get DA 35. If not, should get DA 40.

Funny, as simple and blatently obvious that is, I never really thought about it until I read your post....
To be honest, I think the DA35 IS a fantastic lens, but for the amount of macro work I do, I'd have been better off saving a few quid and getting the DA40.... ho hum, winner either way I guess!

I love the DA35, but I could see myself adding a DA40 to the family as well. Of course, I say the same thing about the DA70. The DA21 is the only limited I have no desire to buy.

I just got home with my DA35mm ltd and took a few shots from the back of my house using the da35mm and my sigma 18-50mm set to 35mm. Used the same exposure settings for both, and I was impressed by how much more detail there is in the pictures taken with the 35mm ltd. I remember comparing my Sigma to the Pentax kit lens and how pleased I was with the improvement in IQ, so the 35mm ltd must be quite significantly better in IQ than the kit lens.
