I have to stop looking at ebay...

I saw this... and snapped it up.

I like my 70-105mm so much I was looking for more Vivitars with the #22... serials and found this one. I know a Vivitar 85mm-205mm f3.8 has some overlap with my 70-105mm but the equivalent of 300+mm and the fact that I like the 70-150m so much, at the price... I couldn't pass it up.

I hope I like this one as much as my other.

I also vow to stop scanning ebay for good deals.

I hope that it turns out being a good lens mediaslinky. It sounds like a pretty nice range.

I can beat you today. Today was probably the second time that I've really looked at eek-bay, and I bought this eBay: 500-1000mm Lens for Pentax AF Mt ZX-L ZX-60 *ist DL NEW (item 160103740899 end time Apr-15-07 15:06:12 PDT)
I'm hoping that I didn't just waste my money

Wow, that's a big lens! I'm curious to know how it works out.

I don't know if I ever need to go that big. I'm hoping this latest for me will give me any range I need.

there's 1 eagles nest that I know of where they should be laying eggs soon
And a good hill side vantage point for it, I plan on shooting from.

I'll hopefully have it delivered within 2 weeks (the slowest method of shipping) and plan on giving it a good trial run right away.

The Lens has a Konica Style Bayonet. Does that fit a K-mount camera?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO SLINKY!!!! NOOOOOOooOO*

(*Hollywood style as Slinky trips the wire and the realization that its a Konica Mount wipes him off his feet.)

Slinky, this is a Konica Mount Lens. Will not fit on Pentax K. Its flange is way too short. As the guy to return it.

K/AR is Konica (before it mergered with Minolta). Another clue is the "EE" on the aperture. Thats from Konica as well.

Glad you showed us the ebay auction. Talk to the seller for a return ASAP.

Bah. Missed that whole "konica style" in the description. It's like go to Sam's and buying bulk to find you've actually paid more than if you bought the same amount elsewhere... Email to seller sent, but I've little hope.

Sure gives the thread title a different twist, eh?

You should becareful. haha. I've picked up plenty of nice lenses at the camera store only to be brokenhearted when I see the "EE" or the "K/AR" thing at the bottom. So many of them lying around...sometimes I just wished I had a Konica SLR just for the hell of it.

But anyhow, before you slam the Buy-It-Now button, make sure its Pentax/Ricoh K Mount.

That's why it's important to read through the auction carefully (in this case, the first sentence, or item title). Luckily it wasn't expensive.

Roy,
Header has the word Konika in it - description describes filter as Kenko - but phrasing is ambiguous in header. Full description clearly lists mounting as Konica - takes a while to load but it is all there.

Look in the large size images - the mount is able to be read and the flanges are wrong on the mounting. Flange on the bottom left has a slot cut in it as well = Konica and will be too shallow to fit camera housing - I've tested it to be sure.

Too bad, Slinky. Don't stop reading those e-bay listings just yet.

Are you talking about the link little laker posted (which is a Pentax mount lens), or the link mediaslinky posted (which is a bit harder to recognize)?

Thank God for nice ebayers. Even though I was at fault, they have agreed to refund the total minus listing fees. Whew.
