Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 EX ASP DF

sooo i've got my eye on one of these for my k10d, b/c its fast and in my budget...but my question is in the pic the guy posted who's selling it, it shows a 72mm filter dia....but all the other lenses i've seen of this model say 77mm...the prob is the guy didn't show any other views besides the front element...and i can see a little of the side of the lens body as it goes out of focus...i've requested more pics, but is there another sigma 28-70 f/2.8 out there besides this one? and i know it's not the current DG version....also, in the add he's saying it's manual focus....hopefully he'll send other pics...so is there another sigma 28-70 with a 72mm filter? or did just the pentax models have a 72, and canon and nikon had 77......someone please let me know...thanks!

Yes, it exists.

Yes, it exists. I have it. DF stands for dual focus apparently.

Personally I have never been convinced y this lens, especially using at F2.8 that is the main reason to buy it. Put it this way, I have the da40mm, da70mm and da*50-135mm that I am happy to use at maximum but this lens not really.

However, if the price is right I'd suggest giving it a bash as u can always resell.

Get the Sigma 24-60mm EX DG. It's a dantastic lens that is very sharp wide open and a little more useful at the wide end. I find the 4mm benefit at the wide end more than makes up for being 10mm shorter at the long end. It compares favorably to my DA*50-135.....moreso than the DA*16-50. The Sigma is sharper wide open, but I need the range of the 16-50 more.

I'll second that. I have the Sigma 24-60 which is very good in my opinion. This lens tends to be forgotten because of the lower 60mm top end. I find it very usefull and sharp even at f2.8.
