B&H delivered the FA 31mm 1.8 Limited a day early! A dreary, wet day out, so here's a few first snaps from around the house. I really enjoy the focal length... I think it will be perfect for indoor, natural light shots where the FA 50mm 1.4 is too long. One thing that first struck me was the superb build quality... really, an excellent chunk o' glass!

It's a great lens, it is the normal lens for the digitals and a moderate wide on the film cameras.

It's probably one of the best of the lenses that I own. It has a real "3-D feel, I can't really describe why, but you'll love it!

I'm using it on a K10D and maybe it will find it's way onto the *ist DS. On the K10D is just slightly wide... just a bit wider than normal, if I consider normal as a perspective similar to what my eyes see.

one of the reasons I went with this lens was the 3-D feel, as demonstrated by many fine examples of various forum members. As I keep exploring this lens, hopefully my photography will rise to a level where I can uncover some of that 3-D feel!

It's an Elizabethan collar alternative... a blow up donut so she can't get to her wound. She was bitten by another dog... a nippy Corgi that never learned bite inhibition. Thankfully, it was not a fight... they were actually playing fetch. Chaya didn't even seem to notice and still wanted to play, play play!

As for the lens.... I see it more as investment, as I'm just barely starting to make a few dollars with this groovy hobby.

To show you how generous I am I will assay this serious undertaking for free! However it will take me a long while to diagnose, trouble shoot (and I do mean shoot) the problem. Therefore expect about a 6 month (or longer)turnaround

I took a little stroll through my old neighborhood... Belmont ST in Portland, Oregon. I find the focal length to be really nice for a walk-around and it's nicely balanced on the K10D.

On my stroll, I stopped in a little antique store and was asked if I was a photographer for one of the local papers. That kinda made my day.
