Dirty cheap tele combi: M75-150+Panagor TC

OK, I am not that much of a tele shooter, but seeing the thread in this forum on teleconverters, I remembered I have one: a 2x Panagor. This gives me 300mm combined with the longest lens I have, the M75-150 zoom on it's longest end. The TC costed somewhere between 5 and 10 Euros, the lens 40 Euros.

Here are some examples, all shot on f/8, ISO800 and -1.5EV, handheld. I did some pp: adjusted contrast, clarity and a very little vibrance and I sharpened a little during export. What do you think, is it usable?

#1: Ornithogalum umbellatum

#2: Some flox in our garden

#3: One more of this flox

#4: Aquilegia vulgaris

#5: A dandelion in our lawn

#6: ... and a coffee cup

It looks a bit soft, I'd need to see them at 100% to give a proper verdict. Apart from the softness they don't look half bad.

Yeah, you're right, they are a bit soft. But I think it has (also?) to do with my trembling hands in combination with a 300mm.... Tomorrow I will post some using a tripod.

EDIT: BTW, I think it also has to do with the DOF. Standing at 2 meters, with a 300mm lens, gives a 2 centimeter (!!) DOF, so 1 before and 1 after the focus point. These flowers measure at least 3 cm, so there must be parts OOF.... Look at these examples: there are rather sharp areas

If you like the results, they're usable. Not razor sharp but they look fine, certainly good enough for smaller prints and posting downscaled jpgs like these. Remember you can use SR also with this combo, just dial in to 300mm when shooting on the long end, & stop the lens down 1 or 2 stops if the light allows it.
