Bellows/lens matchup recommendation request

I've just ordered my first set of Pentax bellows. I realize there is, of course, no definitive answer to this question, but which of the following of my SMC M42 Takumar lenses would you recommend I use, & why? This is going to be a strictly indoors setup with still subjects:
50mm F:4 Macro
50mm F:1.4
55mm F:1.8
85mm F:1.8
105mm F:2.8
I also have a lens reversing adapter ring.

My answer would be: it depends. Working distance, desired magnification, etc.

I can say that when I fired up my bellows/slide copier to shoot some 35mm slides, the 50 worked best, magnification wise, with the digital crop factor camera. The 55 gave too much magnification.

The 50mm F:4 macro.

It will also be the best choice for reversing.

What would be the advantage/disadvantage to reversing lens?

There is nothing to gain with the faster lenses. I am with Nesster, much depends on your desired working distance, the amount of extension your bellows offers, and the amount of magnification you need.

What I would suggest is since you already own the lenses you listed, simply take them for a test drive. The ones that work will be readily apparent.

(Have tried just about everything on my sig with the bellows at one time or another...)

I would recommend the 50mm F1.4. The lighter the lens, the better you can focus...

I am using now my DA* 55mm F1.4, despite the lack of an aperture ring, so it closes only at F22...
