Today I was just checking stuff on internet and came across this page:
Pentax bayonet-K lenses; Lenses for Pentax K10D, K100D, K110D, *ist DL2, *ist DS2, *ist DL, *ist DS

I only knew 16mm fisheye, and Jupiter 9
but I have to say that some of them look interesting.
f.e.
20/2.5
and some of those scopes (15-30 1200-2500)
any idea/experiences with these lenses?
thanks for any input...

BR

I have no experience with the lenses, but some experiences with the dealer (rugift.com). A few thoughts:
  • At least a month to receive your purchase
  • 1+ additional months to resolve defective merchandise
  • No real way to contact the dealer
  • Interesting business model...items are shipped as "gifts" from Russia to avoid customs duty...
  • Poor rating from Better Business Bureau

As for the lenses, there are several members of this forum who use and love their Russian and former Soviet-block glass. If you have a sense of adventure, you might be rewarded!

Steve

(P.S. Some lenses may be ordered direct from the manufacturers. LZOS (maker of the Jupiter-9), for instance, maintains a Web store that is very price competitive to rugift.com.)

Another tip is search Ebay for Zenit and Praktica cameras and see what the attached lenses are. Me got a CZ Pancolar in rather nice condition for the princely sum of 19 pounds quite recently. The Prakticas are good for German lenses and the Zenits obviusly good for the Russian lenses.
Unfortunately you start to amass all these orphan film slrs as well but for some weird reason folk bid less for a lens attached to an old slr. It also works for getting fast Super Tak 50s attached to old Spotmatics like the f1.4 50mm Super Tak and the Meyer Optik Trioplan that adopted me.
