MF Sigma Lens inquiry?

Hello guys,

I know I've did several searches changing the words around on google hoping to find a result on the Sigam MF 28 2.8 WideMax 35mm lens but cant find any? There's one but its the Mine Wide. Is that the same as the one found in the lens review,PentaxForums.com Third-Party Pentax Lens Review Database - 28mm F2.8 Mini Wide II-- Manual Focus ANyways, have any shoot with this?? Looking to get add a Super Takumar 24 3.5 or a SMC 28 Takumar 3.5.

I've got a Sigma Mini-Wide II. It's a very small lens - not quite a pancake lens, but small. think the Mini-Wide uses a 49mm or 52mm filter, definitely not a 62mm. So I think the Widemax must be a different lens than the Mini-Wide II.

I found a few things on Google by querying for sigma +widemax, including an EBay auction for an M42 mount Widemax.

I like the Mini-wide pretty well - it's about as sharp as my K10 can handle, and I haven't noticed any over the top vignetting or distortion. I'm curious about what advantages the Widemax might have.

Thanks for the feedback Breischl!! I might have to make the move and purchase it hoping to get a good or great end result since its a 2.8 fast lens. Breischl, could you provide some pics that were taken with the sigma mini-wide II??

Thanks,
walt

Sure thing, I just posted some to my gallery. Actually, everything in my gallery right now was taken with this lens. The B&W photos were mostly at f/8. The bike closeup is at f/4.5, the statue of the boy is at f/4. The green fence is at f/5.6. \

Note that I suck at manual focus, which probably hurts the sharpness more than any fault in the lens.
