Looking forward to seeing some shots from the new lens. Based on all the letters in the name, it MUST be good!

This is a link to a little freeware program called Exposure Plot. It is a neat little thing that will graph out, for you, focal length usage, ISO, and aperture setting usage. I have found it invaluable.

vAndel.nl - The Wega2 site

Once you figure out your tendencies, you can focus in (pardon the pun) on what range and speed lenses you should be looking at, and spend your money more wisely.

Hope this helps
Thanks for this link. It is a nice little utility.

Got to agree with kbrabble
the Sigma 17-70 is my favourite lens. Great value for money with excellent results.
Give this lens serious consideration

I have both the sigma 17-70 and an SMC M 50mm 1.4..... seems that the 17-70 only stays on the K10D a short time and I am more times then not reaching for the 50 1.4...
I would buy the
fa 50 1.4 first, try it out for a few days (or weeks) you will be surprised at how much enjoyment that lens can give.
After a couple of weeks, you might just forget about a zoom and reach for another prime
You will be surprised how your 2 legs can substitute the convenience of a zoom (more caleries burn't for me as well)

good luck with it,

cheers
