Need help identifying this lens

Can anyone tell me what lens this is?? It says Pentax on it and it appears to be a 28-90mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom, but the filter size says it's a 55mm. It also looks macro capable. Any help would be appreciated, here is a pic.

It's a Sigma or Tamron, or one of those rebranded under another name like Quantaray.

It says PENTAX right on the front but looks just like a SIGMA.

It says 'for Pentax AF', the focus ring and distance scale almost guarantee it's a Sigma lens.

When I briefly googled with that camera body's name, I got the impression this might've been the kit lens at the time.

Oh, and 55mm is the filter size, not the focal length of the lens.

I believe you are correct. I know there are a lot of them floating around here. I was just confused by the Pentax name on the front of the lens.

Do you guys think it's worth $80?? It comes with the camera.

This doesn't appear to be a very common lens. It's not in our review data base and I couldn't find any reviews (any mount) on the net. Consider that as well as that for a mid range FL, it's a pretty slow lens at the long end. It's only a guess but I'm thinking that this lens is an average performer. $80 might be a bit much.

It would all depend on how good the lens is. The camera no, but possibly the lens. then again I already have a DA 18-55mm and a F 35-80mm. Who knows, maybe I'll let this one go.
