CPC Phase 2 CCT 70-210mm F4?

Is this lens trash?

I'm pretty sure the CPC lens is identical (minus the lens coatings) to the Pentax-A 70-210/4, which is a legendary Pentax zoom.

So why is the CPC so cheap? Is it just the brand and it doesn't have same the reputation?

I have it or something similar that says "MC AUTO ZOOM CPC PHASE 2 CCT 70~200mm MACRO 1:4 (/)58". I recognized...sadly. enough that it was a rebranded SMC Pentax-A 70-210/4. (My visual memories are wasted on LBA lol)

Anyhow, just becareful as I have noticed "CPC" lenses that don't resemble anything Pentax so what may look like a trend maybe only exceptions.
