After been calibrated by Sigma USA, the lens has no focusing issue anymore.

So it could be the lens which is being used for testing by Germany photozine, it also has focusing issue. It's just my thought, can be (totally) wrong.

I have no idea what does focusing issues are about , my lens works just fine , well at least that`s what i think , or could it work better ?
How do you know such a thing ?

If you look at the pics i posted , do you see anything wrong ? i don`t.

I don`t see what those focusing issues are about, my lens performs just fine or does is not ? how can i compare ?

It would be good if someone who has a problem with this lens would publish a couple of pics so that we can see what this is all about.

If you look at the pics which i posted do you see anything wrong ? i don`t.

Very interesting because in german fotomagazin the 1.4/30 didn't get a good test result.

Yes i know but nevertheless there are many posts who talk about this problem , just wondering what it`s all really about.

Juts bought it today in mint condition. Used in 2 month old. Bought at ~USD 330 (while new one is USD 407). I think i got a good price.

@kyrios: Yes, that's a good price. Congratulations!

I got mine one the day before yesterday. Initially findings: great lens for my needs. Clearly better at f/1.4 than any Pentax 50mm, and now with the FOV of a normal! Then it is not a perfect lens with regards to some other things but I think I will use it a lot judging from what I have seen this far.

Here is a picture (Haha - no comments on the low artistic value thank you) taken in the evening the first day with the lens. I had a short walk and snapped away to see what happens in low light:

First the whole scene:

Then a 100% crop:

K10D, ISO400, 1/45, Sigma 30/1.4 wide open, distant evening shot

To my eyes the lens behaved as expected. In this case a f/2 or f/2.8 lens hadn't done it. I would either have got more blur or more noise or both. Each lens has their pros and cons....

regards,

I agree with you , nothing is perfect but this lens is pretty much as close as you can get from perfection in low light conditions.

Very good price indeed .

I`m surprised that there aren`t more people buying it , looks like they prefer buying Pentax lenses.

I wish the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 would become available in Pentax mount , it`s one of the best rated standard zoom lenses around.
The Pentax 16-50mm will also be cool but at it will cost double the prize
