Which lens Tamron or Sigma

Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO vs Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di LD Macro, Soft focus vs CA.

I read the reviews for both lenses and I don't know which to choose. I really like very sharp pictures but CA is also a big issue with me. I know that some things can be fixed in PP later but I would like to get the best results strait from the camera instead than fixing it later. The price is about the same for both of them. I will buy one of those 2, I just need some help to decide which one.

neither. Get the pentax 55-300. It's $300 but it's so much better than the ones you mentioned. I was in the same shoes as you a while ago. Then I realized that spending the extra $150 on a superior lens just made more sense...

I have the Sigma and I really like it.
Check my website here Capture Beauty: sigma 70-300 APO DG
Some of the pictures aren't with 70-300 (look at the labels), though all the birds one are.

If you can spend the extra money, get the 55-300. I got my sigma at $130 so it was better for me and my money.

I've also got the Sigma. I like it, I think it's a pretty good lens for the price. The falloff in contrast and resolution in the 200-300mm range is pretty noticeable, even in the center. It hunts like crazy in anything less than bright light, but I imagine that's a problem with all three of these lenses. The macro feature is kinda nice but it's only available past 200mm, so it's finicky to handle due to shake and shallow DOF.

I haven't handled the other two lenses so I can't make a valid comparison.

I have Tamron,
well not me but my wife, she loves the lens. I don't use it all that much but some of the images she gets out of it are great.

I was in the same situation, couldn't decide which one between the two, then I decided to pop in a bit more money and get the 55-300mm, totally satisfied .

One more choice, you can try a second-hand 70-200 f2.8 and a TC(1.5x or 2x) , they will give you more range and better F stop
