Hi,

Well I do shoot weddings and I like the shallow DOF of fast primes and the ease of use the zooms offer. To a wedding I usually take the following focal ranges:

Primes
30 mm 1.4
50 mm 1.4
77 mm 1.8

Zooms
10-20
17-70
70-200

I find these focal ranges to be very usefull in weddings. Not all of the above is Pentax glass, since in some focal ranges Pentax has/had no offerings at the time I needed the lenses.

DA* 55, 16-50, 50-135
DA 35Macro, 12-24
DA Ltd 70mm

If I can bring only 2 old primes, it will be:
FA*24mm/2 and FA*85/1.4 ....just in case you ask

Drerka, you're cheating
the OP is limiting to current DA* DA DFA & DA ltd options only

First let me make it clear that I would in all likelyhood decline to do a wedding, it not really being my forte... I'd prolly bring the DA 10-17 FE (or the 12-24), the DA* 16-50, and the DA* 60-250 (or maybe just the 50-135), and call it a day. If I had to bring three more to fill the six spots in the camera pack... hmmm... DA 15mm ltd, FA 31mm (of course - but it's not a DA lens - I guess the DA 35mm macro ltd.), and the DA 70mm ltd. (of the 77mm if I can pick FA lenses ).

Of course, out of those mentioned, I only own the 10-17, the *16-50 and the *50-135.

Cheating? I just recommend the focal ranges I use... The OP can 'translate' that to the lens series he wants to use/buy.

Hmm. Realistically you wouldn't have much time swapping lenses and be limited to about 2 or 3 camera bodies. If that would be the case, I'd have 2 bodies dedicated to 2 lenses, and if I had a 3rd body I'd use that for unique lenses.

Body 1 with 16-50 attached.
Body 2 with 50-135 attached.
Body 3 with DA55 or fisheye attached.

Either that or just 2 primes which would probably be the DA21 and the DA70

Touch choice, I cover weddings with 1 or 2 partners/assistants.

Near the same as Soccerjoe

Body 1 with 16-50 attached.
Body 2 with 50-135 attached.
FA 77 as interchange

Would cover all needs in my opinion

I shoot weddings and do it with 2 cameras.
K20D with flash and DA*50-135mm (I actually use a Sigma 70-200 EX f2.8 but in keeping with the question the DA* is similar)
K10D with flash and DA*16-50mm f2.8

In the waist belt is the FA50mm f1.4 and the DA12-24mm f4 Plus a couple other brand fast primes.

Newbie question: if you take Sigma 70-200 out for let's say the FA 50, where do you hold the sigma ? in the same waist belt ?

Why the limit? This is like one of those 'deserted island' scenarios. If I were to shoot a wedding and if I was going to bring 6 lenses (of the ones I own) they would be: (in order of importance)
Tamron 28-75 F2.8
Pentax A 70-210 F4
Pentax DA 12-24
FA 43 F1.9 ltd
FA 77 F1.8 ltd
FA 20 F2.8

NaCl(don't own but one DA lens, the 12-24)H2O

You mean photo of the lens or wedding photo taken with this lens?

These are the only FA* I have:

I don't have any wedding photo taken with this lens yet

If you must use six lenses, I would try this:
1. DA*16-50
2. DA*50-135
3. DA*55
4. DA12-24
5. DFA 100 Macro
6. DA*200
