Only think I really don't like is the "problem" about the UV filter ! All my lens have good UV filters for protection.
Keep the cap on it when not in use. Use a hood with other lenses. End of filter "problem".

This lens is not really that sharp wide open, so I want to try few shots again with a tripod, to get the max out of it.
Hmmmm....I've always felt that this was one of the sharpest lenses in my kit. Maybe the DA35 is slightly sharper, but the 10-17 is pretty darn sharp....even wide open.

fisheye can be used for a fun effect but it also does have its uses and thats when you need to get very tight in a confined space, the biljard shot is a good example of it and doesnt scream distortion like most fisheye shots do, because when its used like this you dont notice the distortion as much.

dont know if anyone else subscribed to kelby training but david ziser had some great fisheye shots in a spiral stairwell inside a round tower in one of those videos and those were bridal portaits.

Seems this lens is 15mm-26mm in the 35mm format with *ist DSLRs.
Is it compatible with 35mm format?
Can someone post images at 15mm and at 26mm with the lens in case if they are compatible ?
Thanks

Somerville Cruise Night

It came straight out of the camera like this, no HDR, very minimal PP (a little fill light, a little NR). ISO 1600. Handheld 1/10.

Lots of potential with the 10-17...

You won't be disappointed. Mine is in my camera bag everywhere I go. I use it much more than I thought I would.

A tip from me is not to use it too much. Bring it everywhere as a complement to another lens, not as "lens of the day", that way you won't get tired of it too quickly, and see more of what it can do
