Why do you need vodka after receiving this lens? I only drink it when I am depressed :P

Cannot wait to see this lens in action. Sure you would post them here!

That lens costs me to the degree that I ate no breakie and lunches for 2 months or so.

Lucky you. Got a black one instead of silver. Black one looks sleek

My fault that I did not see the humour in it first place

Photo Gallery

Just posted a JPEG from Raw to ProPhoto and unfrtunately had to compress 8/12 in PS2 to fit the gallery maximum resolution.

f1.8 at 1/30th of a second handheld. It is in the "Personal" Gallery Menu.

Is this the same lens that sells on Amazon for $1200 and comes in silver? Is the black one just for famous photographers?

I'd have to skip breakfast and lunch AND dinner to pay for this in two months. ;-)

Only a soft bag for it? At least the Sigma EX's have a solid, cushioned, zipped, solid container.

HEY!, That's a genuine imatation leatherette pouch. Lose it and you'll pay 70+ bucks to replace it.

The "leather" case really is a pleasure to take into the field. I always keep my limiteds nestled in them for a little added safety.

It is cheaper elsewhere. You can get it here for just over $800 US. Even us normal folks can get it in black.

I will be corrected if I am wrong but I thought Ben got his equipment from Pentax for free as they are sponsoring him.
