It's just that people who have looked at both lenses side by side had noted the the color of the coatings to be the same between the two lenses and it was the same color as that of all Tamron lenses they had and the color is not the same as the pentax SMC coatings of the lenses they had. After reading this first hand knowledge, I decided it was safe to assume pentax did not change the coating.
There was a thread a little while back comparing the color & sharpness of this lens with three others (of the form "guess which pic went with which lens"). Nobody got it right and the color was exactly the same as the other lenses in the comparison. Maybe some people can see these color differences that get bandied about, but I sure can't.

where as the pentax brand, gave way different results, so i wonder
1 did photozone get good coppies for the canon and nikon in tamron.
2 did photozone get a bad copy of the pentax.
More likely:
3 the Pentax camera photozone uses uses a different anti-alias filter that affects the resolution numbers, or their testing methodology differs differs for Pentax, such that, as I keep pointing out, the numbers are *not comparable*. Like if their using the metric system for one and the British system for the other (not that that's actually what's going on, but you get the idea).

Basically, I'd give up on the idea that there is a meaningful answer, and just trust common sense here: it's the same lens, regardless of what some number says. You're not going to get a better answer than that.

I am talking about the color of the lens coatings it self...I think the tamron has a yellow or green tinge and pentax something else. Sorry for being unclear.

I can confirm the green coating on my Tamron 18-250.
But what i am more interested about is the focus sound! On my Tamron its very loud, not that i don't want to use the lens anymore, but its loud. Is the Pentax the same loudness?

Edit: I mean if its loud, hard, dB, airpressure...the 2 lenses compared...right?

There's a review I did on the 18-250 on the site's review section for this lens if you want to take a look there.

In short, it's a VERY good lens: sharp stopped down, unbeatable zoom range. I LOVE prime lenses and yet the 18-250 seems to stick to my camera like glue - that should tell you something.

HOWEVER, you must accept its limitations: some noticeable barrel distortion at 18mm, and CA at the long end and vignetting unless stopped down. Vignetting is easily corrected if shooting raw though. Also, noticeably soft wide open.

Accept this lens shines from f/8 to f/11 and you'll be a happy camper.

My flickr set for this lens, all shots available in very high resolution.

Also I must praise its flare control. I never use the hood anymore since there's no flare. Ever. Even if the Sun is inside the frame, then you'll notice a couple small spots. See the picture below for an example (this is with the K200D):

Another one, with the K20D this time:

Hope I have helped.
i looked at the pics and i must say i am impressed
