bad luck redpigeons... I see after getting 24 you want to go a bit wider without loosing the speed...
I'd like to have one of those two but I know it's not likely to happen... even IF I'd come accross one I'm sure it would be over my budget. But I'll let you know...

24mm is actually fine for me... I am just not crazy about the sigma rendering compere to my Pentax lenses and the Pentax 24mm * is huge

this one is just perfect for me! no wonder its so hard to find... I bet its perfect for a lot of people

That's probably a nice lens - and FF too. I think I might actually want one also!

But seriously, is there something quite special about it?

pretty much agree...
though photozone says 21 is all in all probably better and only loses 1/3 of stop and is even smaller... but I haven't bought it yet either.
anyway, 20/2.8 is really rare (not that 24* would be common or what)
so good luck,
you'll need it

as far as rendering of Sigma 24/2.8 goes, I'm pretty happy... The two closes lenses I have, to compare it to are 10-20 which gets beaten by quite a margin (at 20mm) and FA31.... well I don't even dare to do comparison shoot, simply lost time.
But generaly 24 is fine

Now you've done it... I need to have one too!

That would actually be a good alternative for the 15mm and 21mm limiteds I've been thinking about. Great. Two lenses I can't afford (or justify the spending) and now the third that can't be found.

yeah I might have to get the 21mm .. I'm usually looking for FF lenses.. I like to have to option to use it on my film cameras and I am upset with Pentax for not giving me an option

I just know my luck the first DA lens that I will buy and Pentax will announce a FF camera.

on the other end with my luck if I will keep buying FF lenses Pentax will announce that they are sticking with APS-C to the bitter end of bankruptcy

DA 21 does not disappoint. Or get the Voigtlander 20 when it finally arrives.
