Fa*80-200/2,8

I have this for sale in a national photo site, but no one seems interested. I haven't considered ebay at this time as I believed I could get a higher prize for it in Norway. But maybe I should reconsider. My only concern is that I have never sold anything on ebay before. I have no good "sellers score":ugh:. And I am not sure how much I will get. I want 12.500NOK for it so that I can buy a DA*60-250/4. Do you think that is possible on ebay? (which maybe is a silly question. Lately, everything is possible regarding used Pentax lenses, it seems).

Please note that I won't accept any offers here. The question is simply - would a used FA*80-200/2,8 be worth more than NOK12.500/€1.450/$2055 on ebay?

I am not an expert... but I would say 2055 is probably a little optimistic.
Anything can happen on EBAY because its a rare one to show up. But the prices of the sigma and tamron will probably make some people reconsider.

Looking at the review section, I think 1500 - 1800US is probably more realistic

I've been watching eBay for a few months off and on, often keeping an eye on all the nice lenses that show up. Expecting to get $2000US for it is a little much, at least for the auctions that are available for purchase in the US. The used copies usually sell for $1500 or less, with "new" copies possibly going for a little bit more, but even those don't even seem to get up to $2000.

Yes, that was my thougth, too. Maybe I should just try to sell it in Norway. Pity that the DA*60-250/4 is prized so high.

have you tried Fotosidan.se - Sveriges största mötesplats för fotografer - Fotosidan , you can try Blocket.se - Sveriges största Köp & Sälj marknad swedish site but you might get some attention from swedish pentaxians.

wish i could afford it but even at the selling price i can't.. price on this has come down due to the advent of pentax's new DA's lenses.. 1200 is about all you'll get

Doubt it. We actually have decent options now...the Tamron and Sigma at only $600-700. They used to go for $1600, but I've seen some go for $1200.
To put that in perspective, you could buy both the Sigma and Tamron for the price of it. The Tamron is sharper IMHO and the Sigma focuses faster...

Well, I see that I probably won't be able to exchange this in a new DA*60-250/4. It's not a big problem, really.

But I am wondering how many DA*60-250/4 lenses they could sell with those prices. I was also interested in DA*300/4, but that one is even more expensive than DA*60-250/4 in Norway. In the US it is cheaper....

I am just curious why would you want to trade/switch from 80-200/2.8 to a 60-250/4? I know the range is slightly less, but to me this is more than offset with the speed of 2.8 vs. 4.0. Both of these lenses are too heavy for my comfort level, but if I was not bothered by weight I would prefer the lens you have now to the 60-250.

Weather sealing is important to me. And the longer focal length would be nice. But still not so important that I want to pay a lot for it. I am very happy with my FA*80-200/2,8, but it is a little bit heavy.

Perhaps I will move the sealed lens mount on a cheap 18-55 WR to the FA*80-200/2,8 and then use some plastic or tape on the focus and zoom rings

The 80-200 is my dream lens haha... if I get a 60-250/4 for cheap, I'd trade it in a heartbeat for your 80-200... but the key word is "cheap" and so that will not happen

I know how you feel StigVidar.
Since I was facing the same dilemma before.
My FA*80-200 is heavy but it produces such beautiful photos.
Finally I resorted with DA*50-135 for my mid tele & weather sealed zoom for my most portraits but I'm still keeping my FA*80-200.
I don't know why but it's just too hard to part with this lens.
Haven't seen any 80-200 zoom range that can beat this lens. Not even the DA*50-135, it might have similar sharpness but not with the colour. Especially at 200mm/2.8...oh how much I love the bokeh smoothness.

I was dreaming of full frame camera and when I look into Canon 5D & 70-200mm L IS, the Canon 70-200 has the similar weight. So, it comforts me knowing that to achieve that speed & IQ for a lens, that weight is justifiable
Who knows Pentax will releas Full Frame next year ;P (...I know, it's just a dream...for now)

FA* 80/200mm

Last one I saw for sale was for £1140 - This lens does not come up for sale very often - But when it does, there is nothing out there to match it in my opinion
