Those were the only 2 and the exif data is attached so you can double check the authenticity. My only little thing that scares me about this is that they were using firmware 1.11? Wonder if SDM worked on it? We'll never know.

Curiously, the images are labeled "16-55" and "55-135" instead of 16-50 and 50-135. Wonder what's up with that.

traced the images to their origin site: Pentax Japans official site! Not on ours though... so sad.

I love the colors on the second one! I feel a really bad case of LBA coming on.

These two images are stunning!

Definitely going to get 16-50. These details are so amazing that her eyelashes were razor sharp at f2.8!! The skin tone is beautiful as well. Breathtaking image!

Definitely going for this lens.

Call it pixel-peeping, but I did a 300% blowup of the model's left eye and I can see a reflection. If I use my imagination it looks like someone standing to the side of what could be a camera with a flash on top. Whatever it is, that is one sharp lens to record any reflection on the surface of someones eye from that distance.

Wow, bloody impressive. VERY glad I went Pentax! I'll probably end up replacing the 16-45 eventually, although that'll be WELL after the 50-135.

It definetly looks very good, but I wonder how it would compare to the Tamron 28-75? Granted SDM is a big plus but I alreaty have the Tamron.

And somewhat off topic do you like Tamron ? I just purchased it - should be here in a couple of weeks. Any Tamron Tips ? Filters ? Settings I hear it sharpens up af f4 how is f2.8 ? The Tamron will be my 'best' lens to date - not sure how it will compare to the DS* (roughly twice the price) ... I will have to wait until I get some clicks under my belt with the Tamron

I am torn at this point on what DS* to get - I love the 50-135 for reach but I don';t have any quality lens on the wide end. Good thing for me it looks like several months before I 'need' to look more seriously. Gonna have to give up some habbits to fund this one !

I like the Tamron quite a bit actually. I have found that it can be quite sharp at 2.8, but you have to focus carefully due to the shallow DOF. Stopped down even to 3.5 and it gives very sharp results. The bokah looks very good to me. It is a little heavy, but that is just the nature of the beast with these lenses. The only think that I feel like I am missing out on is a little bit of the wide end (why I am looking at the 16-50 and 16-45), but I might get a 12-24 or something to cover that. Sure there may be some top end lenses (some people have debated whether the canon L version is better or not) but for the price it is amazing.

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread but here are a couple camples from the Tamron:
@2.8 to show it's wide open performance and OOF areas

and this one is at f14

Here is a test I did comparing the Tamron @ 28mm to a Super Takumar 28mm f3.5
