That first shot of the flower... wow.

It does seem to have a different OOF look to it. Similar in the close shots but definitely diff in the long shots.

Very nice first series from it... you got me convinced I need a third one!!!!

Where did you get the K mount version from? Do you have any pics of it?

And a link to the seller if it is an ebay one!

I am supposed to be the one driving other to buy these things! Not the other way around

Well, there's one available right now here: Helios-44K-4 2/58 standart lens Pentax - eBay (item 170327068105 end time Jun-29-09 06:13:25 PDT)

(I'd ask about the caps, though. Also, mine was $20 cheaper.)

I got mine from this guy: eBay My World - ruscamera

I don't have any pics of mine at the moment... could get some tonight, but the first link has some decent ones, so look there.

Beautiful shots, man!

Very Russian bokeh, if I may say! Great look to it... I checked eBay this morning after scrolling down to those tiger lilies

Come on! $75 shipped? It's almost cheaper than not buying it!

I have two helios lenses :

1- helios 44-3, of 1986, 8 blades;
2- helios 44M-7, of 1993, 6 blades.

They are the last in pre-set and in automatic versions.

The images (they are in the laboratory for scaning), in slides, are almost the same. I can't find any differences (except in colors, perhaps by the coated of each lens).

6 and 8 blades? Almost the same bokeh in normals pics.

Had you any experience with the 44-3 and/or 44M-7?

Thanks.

Helios 44-3 is very rare lens. 8 blades. Developed and made by
BelOMA.Welcome to the web-site
44-3 has multilayer coating with tints of green.

It's not classical Helios of KMZ (Krasnogorsky Zavod)

Krasnogorsky Zavod -- ÍÒÖ -- Àðõèâ -- Îáúåêòèâû Ãåëèîñ-44

All last versions of Helios-44M(K)-4, -5, -6, -7 were with 6 blades.

Helios was made under base of Biotar 2/58 (Carl Zeiss Jena).

Helios 44M(K)-4 has one of the best colour rendition and coating.

The best resolution:
1. 44M-7
2. 44M-6
3. 44K-4
4. 44M-5 (44M-4)

I just sold off my 44-2 (which was very sharp) to get a 44k-4, hopefully soon. Great photos by the way.

En theory the 44K4 is sharpest than the M44 (see Krasnogorsky Zavod -- ÍÒÖ -- Àðõèâ -- Îáúåêòèâû Ãåëèîñ-44).

But in the real world I can´t find differences between them.

Only the 44M-7 seems to be more contrast and resolution power.
