Hazy lens

A little Ebay buy, described as a bit hazy, so naturally it was a very cheap buy which I couldn't resist in the hope I can repair it. Well the problem is the lens coating on the 2 rear elements has pretty much let go and I'm wondering if there is a cheap method of polishing off the remnants of the old coating and turning the lens into something reasonably useable. Besides the ever present smokeh it seems to be a reasonably sharp lens and worth an effort as long as it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg sending it off to a repair shop.
