I thought that thing was in orbit and just repaired by a couple of astronauts.

Wow! Look at how the body is almost floating in the background.

I just checked the review and pics. What a fun toy to play with if you live somewhere with a deck and a view that spans 50-100m with lots of wildlife. Congratulations on your unusual find.

That is an awesome lens. Thanks for posting the review - I've always been curious about this lens and not surprisingly I've never seen one. Looking forward to more images from this beast. The extra length should afford opportunities the rest of us can only dream about.

Cheers

You got it! ;~) My porch overlooks a wooded steam valley (City parkland) to the South and West. There's a large dead Oak about 75 yards to the West which is a bird magnet and gets great light from sun-up to late morning. I just set up, grab a cup of coffee and the laptop and see who shows up.

OK, SOMEBODY's gonna ask . . . "Do ya think it'll work with a 3x TC?" : )

I was thinking this would look impressive on a k-m or a k-7 Ofcause with a 2x teleconverter and the 67 to K mounth addaptor.

Pentax 67 Lens 4/600mm Super-Multi-Coated-Takumar 6x7 - eBay (item 370206590176 end time Jun-24-09 02:20:32 PDT)

But I have no idea about the optical quality of this lens.

Actually, I do have the AF 1.7x and A 2x S TCs and, of course, had to give it a go but concluded it was pushing too far. First of all, I just don't think the resolution is good enough to support a TC and second, it makes an already dark lens even darker increasing the tendency toward noise. I may try a moon shot with the 2x though.
