DA*55 f1.4 samples

Here are some quick shots taken with my new DA*55 f1.4. I just had to give it a whirl to see what it was like. :-)

All taken with the K20D + DA*55 f1.4 and AF540FGZ with Gary Fong Lightsphere.
No sharpening applied whatsoever.

I am *very* impressed with the image quality.

All of my youngest daughter who just had her hear blonded, so she was a willing participant. :-)

Pictures are very sharp. Well done and nice even lighting (although rather on the cool side).

Great shots Lance, well posed and composed. One question, what is the bokeh like wide open? Like the 77?

NaCl(if it's going to be like the 77, I've got a big LBA problem)H2O

Thank you very much.

I haven't looked at the bokeh wide open, yet. I shall endeavour to do so and post results at some stage.

I've got a few, but I'll post them on a different thread so as not to hijack this one

Lovely shots, Lance. The DA*55 is quite a lens, eh??

These shots have me wanting to buy a Gary Fong Lightsphere now!!

That doesn' bother me, but I will look out for your thread. Might be an idea to link it here so as people can check it out.

Thank you very much. Yes, the DA*55 is a little gem and I love the build quality.

It is a very good diffuser. You do have to pump up the flash output and/or the exposure compensation, but it really gives a great even light.

Cool. Here's the link to my thread:

My DA*55 brief review and some pics

I too love the build quality. At first I wasn't too sure about the DA*55 given its price, but after using it and playing with it... I can say it's definitely worth the cash.

I've actually decided to go manual focus for most of my shots now. The DA*55 has excellent excellent manual focus feel. A huge plus.
