SMC-A 50/1,2 for 360$ yes or no (have 43mm/1,9 already)

Hey Community,

i could buy the SMC Pentax-A 50mm F1.2 for around 360 USD, used (but good condition) from a local dealer. This seems quite a bargain to me.

My question is: do i really need it, cause i ve got already the SMC Pentax-FA 43mm F1.9 Limited?

Yours
Deimo

I ahd a K50/1.2 for a while, bought and sold for about $350.

That price is probably correct for a K50/1.2 in Exc or Exc+ condition. It is a bit low (good deal) for the A version unless there are cosmetic issues, assuming everything works correctly.

You would have more the low-light focusing power than with the 43, and you might want the 50/1.2 for the different bokeh - or for bragging rights.

The 43 would be all the lens I would need.

What does need have to do with lenses?? I'd buy it just for the fun of it and besides, they're not making this fine lens anymore. That's a good price too.

I had a 43/1.9 but bought the K 50/1.2. They serve different purposes and both are incredible.

But put me in line for the A 50/1.2 as well!

If you've already got an AF sharp standard prime, why bother. Unless you have a manual focus body that you want to keep it attached to.

The other thing is, if you have the cash, I wouldn't hesitate to snatch it up for $360 because you could turn around and resell it for a decent profit. That's about $100-$200 cheaper than what is normally goes for in Excellent condition.

I have both. It's rather different lenses. I like it.
A50/1.2 is good at 1.2, if it's in focus...
