well I've got my k100ds a little while back and the 28-80mm sigma that came with it seems okay. but what I hate is its not a wide angle. this Wednesday i'm picking up a 75-300mm sigma for pretty dam cheap and I would like to have a super zoom because I'm going to key west next week.

I realized that I had some money left over and was considering getting a kit lens for a new walking around lens. Or should I wait and save till I can afford something better like a 18-250 or something similar?

I used a Sigma 17-70 for awhile until I picked up a Sigma 24-135. Both do well as walk around lenses for me, with me using the 24-135 more often for it's wider range. I don't think you would go wrong with either one of these.
