50 - 135..f/2.8. love the lens

Some pics in Vegas this past weekend. The indoor ones were shot in M mode, 1600 speed, no PP.

What is there on the short end that is as good?

I'm quite suprised a casino let you take pictures inside of the complex. I thought they were pretty against that.

That aside I do like that lens as well, and glad I got it when it was almost $200 cheaper then it is now at local stores.

I love this lens also ...picked it up as soon as it was available so got it for less than the current retail price. Here are a couple of images shot this last weekend with this lens.

Well, any advice on a short end zoom with this type of image quality? I also need it in a f2.8. 28-70? 18-50?

It doesn't have to be a pentax brand either... just something better than the kit lens that came with the K100 (although for a kit lens, it ain't bad).

Tamron 28-75 F2.8 is the best

How wide would you like it? There are a few choices:
Pentax's DA* 16-50 is among the best.
Tamron's 17-50 is also bery highly rated.
Sigma's 18-50 (f/2.8 version, that is) is also well recognised.
Pentax also has an FA* 28-70 that matches any other wide zoom in quality, but has a big price tag to boot...
