macro lence for a newb

Hello everyone can anyone recommend me a GOOD used prime macro lence $100-230

something around 100mm for doing macroshots of spiderwebs

I know 100mm Pentax for 800$ would be good for me - but I just don't have a money. I have a cheap 28-80mm Sigma with macro, but I want something better.

thank you,
Asgaroth

afternoon... i picked up the following lens for about 100 u.s., used a little while ago...
Pentax Lens Review Database - 100mm F3.5 Macro
and then purchased the 1;1 adapter from wolfe camera....
this lens also is branded as a promaster, as well as cosina, and vivitar...
it's not terribly well made, but delivers very nice results, on a budget mind you....
also, the pentax variant, which i have, has smc coatings which i believe makes it a wee bit better than the other branded versions....
best of luck...

The Tamron 90mm 2.8 is a great lens, and not too far outside your budget...

Also worth considering is Raynox 150 close up filter on top of the telephoto lens of your choice - it yields excellent 1:1 macro starting at about 135mm. If you already have a telephoto lens, the Raynox is only $50, but even if you don't already have a telephoto, shouldn't cost your more than $50 or so to get one. This shot, for instance, is with the Raynox 150 on the M135/3.5, a combination that would come in around $100:

I was about to put a Vivitar 100/3.5 macro (as above) on the MarketPlace for $120 including USPS Priority shipping within US.

Reviews can be found here:

PentaxForums.com Third-Party Pentax Lens Review Database - 100mm F1:3,5 MC Makro

This is a very sharp lens for the money as is stated in the various reviews and it's the manual focus version which avoids some of the comments about loose plastic construction and noisy AF. It works well as both a macro lens and a medium (150mm) tele-lens.

If you're interested, I'll offer you first option to buy. Pix available but we'll have to use regular e-mail for that.
