Stuck aperture in Tamron 70-200/2.8?

Noticed a strange thing with my new Tamron 70-200/2.8 when testing some shots in the garden: the images went over-exposured when stopping down the lens (this time to 8, but it should not matter). The DOF control did not work either, lens stayed fully open. I removed the lens and touched the mechanical coupling for the aperture - it was stuck. With some light force, I pushed it back in action and everything was working as usual (images and DOF ok). Anyone seen this and what to do about it - use the lens more so it wears in?

I had this same problem and returned the lens for a refund. If you cannot get a refund, see if you can get it repaired under warranty. If you read the lens reviews at B&H photo, out of 10 reviews, there are two with sticking apertures - this seems like it might be a prevalent quality problem with this lens.
