DA 50-200mm WR Arrives

Completely to my surprise, my 50-200mm WR ordered from Amazon arrived today. Somehow I expected the 18-55mm WR to ship first, but maybe all those are going into kits with K-7's.

Some preliminary comparisons with my DA*50-135 are suggesting this is a very nice lens indeed. Light and small, but it feels solid in the hand.

Anybody else get one of these yet?

Have you ever owned or used the original 50-200? Just curious if they are the same optically? I too would like some inexpensive WR lenses for when the weather turns bad.

John Carlson has explicitly said yes, they are the same optically. Any difference anyone might happen to perceive would be normal sample variation.

Nice, I like my Samsung version of the DA50-200 and would like it even more if it was sealed. For a while it was a lens many recommended, but after photozone published their test I don't see these recommendations very often.

Now, if you want a small, light, cheap and weather sealed tele zoom, I think this one will be hard to beat.

Now, wonder if they will release a da 55-300 wr? from what I have seen it seems a bit better than the 50-200 and the 300 reach would often be *very* useful, when you need tele.
