You are right, I meant the Sigma 10-20. Yes, the image quality is quite poor and your image of the tree shows it too. The first thing I notice is the vignetting which I cannot stand, it makes things look like a tunnel and it is hard to notice the rest of the image.

I now also undestand why you do not mind it, since you added the vignetting yourself in the next image I cannot tell if it is your resizing or not but the image is lacks fine contrast and details are muddled on the grass.

I'm sure there are quite a lot of people who would disagree with you. - https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/84539-sigma-10-20mm-club.html

I throughly enjoy my DA 14mm f/2.8, not sure if Id want much wider. OK, that is not true but for the price nothing else really comes close.

when i went out for landscapes, i always thought that my 16-45 isn't wide enough. i always thought..what if i have that 12-24 in my collection..will it satisfyme.. ? i havent had answer for that question.

since i knew what it feel like shooting at 16.. so my answer is 12-24 (for APS-C)

and maybe 20-35 for FF.

.

Very wide, not for every day use

I think ultrawide is very usable for special areas, not for everyday shooting. For landscape I prefer my 85mm, and even 200mm at times. For street/candids 35mm is just perfect.
I do a lot of travelling in work and have this idea to always take a picture of my hotel room and the view from the window. For this the 16-45 is seldom wide enough. I'd like a rectilinear prime around 10-12mm. I think that would be very useful for architecture too, like churches from both outside and inside. Can we dream about a tilt/shift 16mm?
