D-FA* 24mm or 28mm, f2 or f2.8, DC & WR.

D-FA 135 Limited, DC & WR, f2.8 or even f4 for compactness.

A resurrected thread, but I'll play along.

An affordable 35mm f1.8 lens for FF is currently on top of my wish list from Pentax. Screwdrive, SDM, DC, whatever, as long as its affordable.

An affordable full-frame portrait zoom, something like a 70-200 f/4.

If anyone at Pentax tries to figure out what is needed/wanted based on this thread, things will go horribly wrong :-)

I'd love to see a 16-135mm DA F4 WR DC lens
Or even a 16-60mm DA F2.8-4 WR DC lens

As an old school shooter, my favourite focal lengths were 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 90mm

A 16-135 f3.5 to replace the 18-135 with the image quality of the 16-85 for the entire range as I said in the other thread would be a killer lens. A perfect walk around lens. Count me in for one if it will be available.

I'd be interested in DA*11-16/2,8 (based on Tokina's version) or if that's not possible, then something like DA 10-20/4.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a thread this old brought back from the dead.

Hi Wheatfield

I think there are 2 such threads at the moment with different titles but same idea.
I keep on going to either one unknowingly.

Ooh, I'd also like to see something lens-less - bring on extension tubes please. I'd have to think the design cost would be minimal, just take an eraser to the 1.4 TC plans, and it would be a nice message that they give a toss about macro shooters.

If you have the time and inclination, I'll read it. It's too bad it doesn't use a mechanical aperture lever or ring, this would be one lens you could adapt to other mounts with little trouble (it wouldn't be disastrous if your adapter acted as a little extension tube for this beastie).

And this lens will be handcrafted for me. I will gladly take a picture of the fairy and the unicorn. One thing for sure, this is a Jedi's lens.

Very true. Also, many of these suggestions fall under the category "Be careful what you wish for." A 16-135 f3.5 lens optically as good as the DA 16-65? Really? Does anyone realize how heavy and expensive such a lens would be?

In terms of sheer pragmatism, the lens that is most needed (i.e., that would have the biggest impact for Pentax shooters) is a DFA 18-35 f4-5.6, optically on par with the DFA 28-105, and featuring filter rings. Such a lens could probably be marketed for around $750 and it would solve a huge number problems for landscape shooters upgrading to the K-1. A DFA 70-300 f4-5.6, also optically on par with the DFA 28-105, would also be a nice addition, as it would make for a slow aperture yet high quality zoom trio to serve as a less expensive, less heavy alternative to the f2.8 zoom trio.

All I'm looking for is a small sharp, maybe ƒ4.5 20mm lens. A DA 15 for FF. Although I wouldn't sneeze at 15 for FF either.
