Zenitar 16 FE

I recieved my Zenitar-lens today and ofcourse I had to test it.

K10D, Zenitar 16 FE @ F8 or so, defished by the Proxel Lens Corrector. No other pp.

This lens really surprised me. I really didn't suspect it to be this good.

That's a nice shot. This lens is a really pleasant surprise for everyone that owns it. There are a couple of very interesting posts on here that show what can be done with it.

And you not only tested it kskjon - you allready made a Proxel profile for it! Well, I love both the lens and Proxel and hope you'll get as much fun as I have had from that lens. Congratulations!

Hi Kskjon, Nice shot and welcome to the Zenitar fan club. You aren't the first person to be surprised by this lens. Produces excellent photographs, especially when you consider how inexpensive it is. BTW it's also pretty good as a "close up" lens (as opposed to a macro lens, which it's not). Also the fisheye distortion is small enough that with careful framing you don't notice it that much. I like my "Z" a lot and it's rare that it isn't in my bag.

NaCl(more versitile than I first thought and fun! fun! fun!)H2O

I just got mine last week Haven't taken many pics, or actually haven't really looked at many of the pics I've taken - but I did try slapping an extension tube on to get more "macroness" out of it - almost impossible - even with the short tube, the minimum focusing distance ends up basically on the surface of the front element....

It is a fun lens to play with though

One lens does sooo much!

I ordered my Zenitar 16mm in Pentax screw mount. I then had to do the surgery to make it a completely manual lens. Now I use it on three Pentax film bodies; two ks and one screw. I also can use it on my DL and my K10d. To top off the whole mess I have an adaptor that will also let me use it on my Leica IIIf and Bessa R. One lens used on seven bodies, it's great.

I was going to get a "Z", but I got a good deal on the DA10-17mm FE, it arrived last night. Boy is it a fun lens. My LBA is almost complete.

Yes, a very good lens!
My best wide angle!
Because of the fisheye construction a bit more distortion of course but sharpness and contrast are simply very good....
