Can it be easily removed, without pealing the underneath paint?

For those of you who have this lens or a Polar, what does it look like.

I HATE that cheap looking brass plate....man that LOOKS horrible.

I KNOW, I KNOW it has nothing to do with image quality, but everything to do with looking cheap !

I'm going to get one anyway as this would be a good lens for low light concert stuff when you feel your higher grade lenses may get smacked around to much. The image quality on this lens (Bower, Polar, Vivitar Series 1) seems very good for the money.

I have the Vivitar version - no brass plate on that one. While it's hard to get a solid focus when wide open, I agree that the IQ is good for the money.
