This lens just arrived in the mail today, so I just had to give it a try.
Initial results are very pleasing!
Then again, I'm a sucker for quality MF lenses.
It comes with a close-up filter also.
Didn't mean for the camera to be on ISO400; forgot to check.

These are just the .jpg's as I am uploading from my tiny lappy. I'll play with the RAW files on my PC later.

But they look pretty damn sharp anyway.

Without the close-up filter.
ISO400, f4.5, 1/500th

With close-up filter
ISO400, f5.6, 1/750th

the close-up filter seems to have dulled the flower alittle overall - maybe just a product of the direct sunlight. but that first image is rendered beautifully. it pops like crazy! i've taken more than one look at that lens, being an owner of the original 40mm pancake myself. of course a lens is only as good as the hands it is in as always. looks to be money very well spent!

The colors look absolutely stunning on that first pic, and still very respectable in the second. Sharpness, however, is always difficult to judge without 100% crops.

Seems like a definite keeper though!

I need to play with it a bit more to test its capabilities.
I have the DA 40mm and may do a bit of side by side comparison.

I agree the close up shot colour looks a bit off, or muted, but it is under direct sunlight.

I'll try again when I have a bit more time.

I need to grab a roll of film and give it a whirl on the ME Super.
