Yeah, me neither, I just had to switch the number of posts per page option to 25.

I also want this lens but it's just out of reach of my budget yet so I might try the 70-300mm sigma or the Tamron.
I think they might be (for me) a better bang for the buck.

I'm Back!

Here are a few of my best shots! All of these were shot with the DA 55-300mm throughout my 3-day trip in Captiva Island, Florida. I must say that I am EXTREMELY impressed with the capabilities of this lens. It's sharp, it's got great contrast, and it has amazing reach. For $350 this lens is a great value, I'd venture to say that this lens rivals more expensive lenses in the $600-$800 range minus the fast speed. I can't wait to go out and shoot some airplanes and other stuff here around Miami.

Enjoy!

Just wanna update you guys, I went ahead and ordered the DA 55-300mm from Amazon.com for $354 one-day shipped, I'll get it on Thursday just before my weekend vacation which is great!

I sold my old laptop on eBay and was able to put together the funds to order it! I'll post my best shots next week!
You made a very wise choice, that is a very fine little lens.

Is it just me or is the second page of this thread having issues loading?

OK, I'll bite. The second page of this thread has been showing up completely blank for the last week. Nothing I do will make it display. Yet it keeps showing up as having new posts. are you guys just trying to keep secrets from me or what? Note I probably see this post, or any responses to it...

I set my post per page count to a higher number than default so I'm not seeing any problems...

@Usapatriot: beatiful shots! Too bad I personally don't have much use for telephoto around town

That is a screwy way to have to work around it though.

usapatriot,

Those are some nice shots, especially for a first outing with the lens.

It's not a workaround but moreso my preference for viewing threads... less loading time when reading a thread from the beginning

Well it seems to be working now. Now I see why the thread kept showing up with new posts - everyone else was complaining they couldn't see the posts either! But seeing those very nice 55-300 shots makes it all worthwhile!

Adam fixed it for us. I like the sun set shot and the sail boat shot especially.

Thanks guys! I know those shots have been done a thousand times before but I still feel great about them! Can't wait to get out to Miami International Airport and snap some shots of planes, and then there's the Air and Sea Show in 2010, can't wait for that.

But its always satisfying when you pull off an image like that yourself!
