What different between SMC K 24/2.8, SMC K 24/3.5 and Takumar SMC 24/3.5

Hi, all! Can anybody answer me - what's the different between SMC K 24/2.8(A-version also), SMC K 24/3.5 and Takumar SMC 24/3.5 lenses ? Especially in resolution and chromatic behavior...
Sorry by my poor English.
Thanks for your answers...

Hi,

I have the K24 f2.8 and absolutely love it.
I have two pictures that may give you an indication of how it performs:
First, two lads on a bridge fishing, look down and you will be able to see the fishing lines, thats sharp enough for me

second, a picture into the sun, this might give you an indication of its chromatic performance...

You must be talking to the younger members on this forum. For an older fellow such as myself, I can barely make out the two lads, never mind the fishing lines!

They look fairly similar in design:

So says Boris.

I've never owned any of them, want to own them all.

I have both the K24/2.8 and the K24/3.5. The A24/2.8 is just an updated version of the K series, so they will be similar. Also the K24/3.5 is probably based on the Takumar lens, so they should also be similar.

As for size the K24/2.8 feels more like a M series lens, as its very light and has a 52mm filter thread. The K24/3.5 feels more like a K series lens and has a 58mm filter thread.

Here are a couple web links for test results:

Hi. Thank you very much. But as soon as you have both 24 2.8 and 3.5 lenses, can I ask a question - which from them more sharpeness at the center and at the corner(apperture 4-11) ? I don't trust by Takinamies tests value - 98 vs 87 accordingly. Can you answer me ?

I just got the K24/3.5 two weeks ago and have only taken it out for one shoot.
My initial observation is that the two lenses are almost equal in sharpness.
I shoot slide film, so this observation is using a Pentax lupe on a light table.
I do not own a scanner, so I have no scanned pictures that I could show you to compare.

If you are trying to choose one over the other (K24/3.5 vs K24/2.8), I think it would come down to the size & speed of each lens, compared to the sharpness.

My plan is to use the K24/3.5 in daylight situations and the K24/2.8 for indoor or night shooting.
