Axl, I'm sorry to hear that. It's a real shame that such a great optical lens can be plagued by what would seem like something trivial as far as lens design goes. I had really thought long and hard about trying another, but there are just too many people having the same problem. I signed up for a local Tamron workshop in September, but it looks like I'll be showing up with all Sigma lenses. I'm kind of hoping they ask me why.

Brian, I know what you mean.
It's a huge shame because 70-200 is a great range on APSC and the lens has terrific optics. But exactly like you I didn't have the guts to take another leap of fate and gamble with Tamron so I went for DA*50-135 (I was offered a great deal, for details see thread: all roads lead to Rome).
As far as your Tamron workshop goes I believe you're in "double trouble" because I believe you won't be just the only guy without Tamron lens but you may as well be the only one with Pentax
good luck and let us know how it goes

Well, it's an hour up the road in Budda's hometown. I haven't asked him, but I've been curious if he was going to show up with all that great glass he has. It'd be a great showing for Pentax.

It looks pretty good. I bought three of these lenses. The first was decentered, the second had a problem with sticking aperture, and the third was decentered. After sending back the third lens, I gave up trying to find a good copy.

I printed a test chart, here are the results, does it look okay? seems good to me but would be good to get a second opinion as well
