Thanks, guys.

I should have mentioned it has to be full-frame, so no DA lenses for me.

And, while I won't say money is no object, I do have upwards of 1K to blow.

I was thinking of the FA Limited 31mm but maybe it's not terribly compact? It's so hard to tell sizes, you know?
It's really not that compact. You can't go wrong with it though - thouroughly recommended. I wish I had a FF cam to put it in.

Pentax-A 28mm/2.8

Should be a nice WA on full frame, but wide to normal on a digital body.

The 3 most compact lenses that I own size wise and wide angle are:

Da 35mm ltd.
DA 21mm ltd.

And the smallest lens of all I have, Auto-Takumar 35mm f3.5. it makes the Super Tak 35mm f3.5 look big.

I just got the zenitar 16mm fisheye f/2.8 lens which is fab and very cheap at 117 and its very small and faily light.

Its a full frame lens so works on my mx and my k10 just not as wide on the k10d but still very wide!

I think I'm going to go with a 28mm. I'm used to the 20mm on my dslr and that's what I'm looking to replace.
I will look at the ones you listed, K-man.
Thanks all!

And, having said that, I just found a pentax-A 24mm f2.8.

My vote for a small, quality manual focus, full-frame lens would be the Voigtlander 40mm f2.0 Ultron. Totally functional on the ME and any Pentax DSLR.

I'm currently using an ME Super for b/w and a Nikon D200 for color.

One thing I LOVE about the ME Super is how compact it is. I'd like to keep my lenses compact, as well. I'm a wee thing and hate carrying a lot around...
What would you guys recommend to "replace" it in my growing Pentax kit?

Banjo, that's right up my alley but I did just get an FA Limited 43mm. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Snagged off eBay for $485 including shipping.

The 24mm I found at Kenmore Camera used for $150.

Seconded. Fantastic lens.

Edit: Or if that is not wide enough, then of course the 20mm Color-Heliar.
