Yep, the K7 has something called "contrast detect AF" in liveview (like a P&S but way slower :-)

I'm really enjoying my 70-200 Sigma II so far, but I've never had the opportunity to try the Tamron.

Tamron is a beauty when you customize the K20d settings

These shots are straight from the camera raw no processing at all.
its a flower shot at 1 metre away. f2.8, f10, and f13.
Shot inside no flash just window light.
The focus is on the to dots on the 'tonsills'.
This lens is sharp and has excellent colours and great bokeh.
I think the trick with this lense is to customize the in camera settings because it is a very contrasty lense which can be great but you need to tweak things for your taste.
Once you have done that you are rewarded.
