Super Tak 200mm F4 - Lessons

Another "who loves me more" test series... don't let me down

Some shots with my 'only used once', Super Tak 200mm. This lens has too long of a minimum focus distance as a kid shootin' prime. So I have not used it since I first got it. It is a beautiful copy of the lens with the hood... and its focus is smooth as butter.
I had been using the Da 50-200 and tamron 70-300 the first couple of days but thought I would try the old super tak.

And the minimum focus distance issue

The photos above are from between my "RIGHT NOW" and this post Thanks for reminding me of why I love 200mm... and the 25USD cost makes it even sweeter!

Woo-hoo! This is the lense I keep on my camera as a default/walk around lense.

I think I might have posted some of these up but oh well.

All from Super-Takumar 200mm 3.5

The roughly 9 foot minimum focusing distance makes it a nice lens for "I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole" subjects. Just a thought.

Great shot, but how many people did you ask to hold the K20+bellows+Super-Tak 200 in balance to get such a shot???

Heeh - lookin' thru those images makes me relieved that I'm not the only one with 'sensor crap'...

But seriously, folks, doesn't everyone *know* that those pictures can't *really* be as good as they look? I mean, digital requires *special* *digital* *coatings* to produce usable images, right? And don't all of the old telephotos have ridiculous CA problems that render them useless for digital applications? That's what I keep readin', eh?

So once we all understand that, and the price on these 'useless old parts' falls through the floor, I should be able to pick on up for, what, $6?
