Don't rely on all reviews

I know it is my fault for not properly researching but I got sucked in by the following review of the Tamron 70-200mm Di. Don't get me wrong, I love the lens but as the reviewer says "it works just great with my Sigma 1.4 TC"........so when I ordered the lens I also ordered the Sigma 1.4TC didn't I!!!!!
Well it doesn't fit AT ALL!!!.....very dissapointed and angry at myself.
I will see if I can swap it for the tammy version.....DOH

(REAL NAME)
I have had this lens for a few weeks and it hasn't been off my d300. It's sharp at 2.8 and razor sharp by 5.6. In fact at 5.6 I can't tell it from my Sigma 150 macro. It pairs very well with my Sigma 1.4 TC though the EXIF data is 1 f stop faster than reality. Macro mode is very good and with the 1.4 TC is excellent.

Well, it is possible that it's just a typo and he meant a Tammy TC. Did you ask him?

I know I've certainly typed one thing when I meant another.

The reviewer uses a camera with a different mount, which is probably why it worked for them and not for you.

Nah i think she did it wrong. The sigma teleconverter apparently ONLY works with Sigma lenses.

The sigma TC works with (for pentax mount lenses) only a select few sigma lenses and a very select number of pentax lenses due to the front element of the TC protruding into the rear of the lens.

The sigma site is very clear on which current production lenses the TC works with.

I would expect this to be the same with other moutns also, since the optical design does not change

I should keep this in mind as I'm in the market for a TC.
