DA* 16-50 quick question

This lens just arrived at my work desk, I havn't even had a chance to put it on the camera yet. But I do have a question

Is the focus ring supposed to be able to twist beyond the bounds of the focus in both directions? I.E. mine will keep going (when twisted by hand) even after it reaches infinity or the minimum.

Thanks

I've noticed when you set it the switch on the lens to AF it allows this full range of motion, whereas when it is set to MF it limits it to the boundaries. Kind of handy when you want that traditional feel of manual focus.

Yep, the focus ring slips. This actually got a negative comment by a reviewer that I read. I've never found it to be a problem. This is my main lens and is a joy to use.

To correct one comment. The DA 17-70 SDM lens focus ring doesn't slip and as it is a quick shift ring.

aren't all DA line lenses quick shift?

And thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to using it.
