misty tamron 2x converter

misty tamron 2x converter
Hi just got a tamron sp flat field 2x converter to use with the sp90 it has a very slight mist when you look through it , but when conected to the sp90 and take pictures it looks like a misty day, no contrast ? any way to clean or cure this lens ? or would i be better looking for another copy ? .
