Star-D 135mm 2.8?

Does anyone know what this lens is capable of, quality wise?

It's obviously not a great lens, but right now I'm using an old Sears 135mm k-mount lens, and besides the added difficulty of use since its not an A lens the optical quality of the sears isn't the greatest either. The Star-D is an A lens and should, I assume, focus somewhat closer since it's got macro written all over it.

I thought I'd follow myself up for the benefit of anyone else who might look at this lens. It's made in Korea and, aside from the lack of a rubber grip on the macro ring, it appears to be the same lens as the Sears/Ricoh 128mm F2.8 three stage macro lens that shows up in threads here and there.

With the macro disengaged it's a fairly sharp lens with minimal fringing or ghosting, quite a bit better than the older Sears 135mm F2.8 K mount lens I own. The macro function stinks however. It's sort of a cross between a slightly closer focus function and a blur effects function. Check out the Sears Lens Club thread for posts by Duh Vinci that illustrate a way to use it to your advantage.

I think it's well worth the $20 plus shipping I paid for it to get an A lens for use in low light, if I can keep from accidentally turning the macro ring and blurring all my photos anyway.
