Here's one from my Petri 55/1.8 in M42 mount.

I also have the Pentax-M 50/1.7 but posting anything from that would be redundant I guess.

Michael, that is one great shot! I don't like cats that much, but this capture is wonderful!
You make me wanting that lens....

Thanks!

Cats - I like them (and I literally grew up with a dog). She is our oldest cat and she has a very strong character.

The M50/1,4 gets less attention in the moment, but it will find its way in my camera bag again soon. The reason is, that there is another one I use, simply because I'm quicker with it - the F 50/1,7.

The following portrait was intended as a test photo. Taken with the K200D at ISO 1600 and the F 50/1,7. In-camera conversion to b/w.

Clou - another great cat portrait! That is good sharpness from your 1.4 wide-open. I passed up a chance on a bargain-priced M50 1.4 (I already had the 1.7), but I wish I hadn't!

Similar shots with similar light would be great for comparison. Thanks for the great picture.

This was taken with my excellent Chinon 55mm F1.7 M42. I was up on a dyke next to the everglades, shooting with my Petri 135mm (But those are for a different thread) and I came upon this, left by, I believe, a fisherman. It had a few spots of dried blood, and a few spots of rust, leading me to believe it had been there for a while. Based on the broken fishing line and similarly bloodied hook stuck to a bush nearby, I believe something went wrong during the catch/release of the fish, and the knife was left in the confusion.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the lens I used is multi-coated or just really nicely single-coated?
