Georg, those Zeiss Planar shots are just great! I like the first one very much, it has such a depth...!

Thanks Rense,

I'm always in search of the middle format look. That Planar lens is certainly a good candidate cause it is really usable at f/1.4.
I still gotta dial into the lens' potential. Mechanical quality is nice and the old AE version gives you that sort of russian
heavy metal tank-like confidence .-)

A couple of pics taken with a very recently acquired Yashica DX 50 f1.4 in M42.

(xj)John(no), that Yash 50/1.4 looks really good, nice bokeh too imo.

Here's the successor to this lens, the ML (2nd) version

Yashica ML 1.4/50 on K100D, f/1.4. Shot through the net.

Keep them coming in, Georg (the other)

That is one good lookink parrot pic George with pleasantly manic bokeh. I must keep a look out for the Yashica ML 50s.

John; I guess you're just fine with your DX. The bokeh with the parrot comes partly from shooting through the net (which is visible in the background also). Mind you that the ML versions come in Y/C mount so you'd have to tinker and/or get a leitax adapter. To check infinity though you can handhold any Y/C lens into the PK mount and snap some pics (Carl Zeiss Contax lenses included).

Here is another one with the FA 50mm f1.4 at a night game (no flash). No PP other than extracting and sizing.

Some excellent images from an under rated focal length for digital. I've got one of one fifty used to take one of another fifty. M 50mm f/1.7 and Sumicron 50mm f/2 DR on an M2.

And some more with this same lens, but now mounted at some extension tubes (about 31mm in total?).

Wonderful & well-exposed shots Rense. The colors and the background blur seem to improve with the extension - is it right to assume that you have stopped them down a good bit ?

The second to last photo makes me want to bite into the mushroom - I guess the first one though would make me a little tipsy if I tried.
