The fifties association

We have many clubs, dedicated to specific lenses. Grouped around series of Pentax lenses (Takumar, A, M, K, etcetera clubs), around off brand lenses (e.g. Sears lenses), specific types of lenses (the brand new mirror lens club), and around lenses from one country (the Soviet lens club). But what about a club of 50mm-owners? I guess at least 80% of the PF members have one or more 50mm lenses. (I myself own 9 50mm lenses right now...). And if zooms are included, probably around 100% of us have at least one 50mm. Once the standard, now a somewhat odd length, but loved by many.

So, let this be the place to show your favourite 50mm pics. Well, lets say: anything between 50 and 60mm. Plain, but also combined with tubes, bellows, converters etc. What are your 50's capable off?

I'll start with this one, shot last weekend in Amsterdam, shown before, but I like it.

from my 50mm f/1.2 - @ f/2.8

Fast 50's are probably the most underrated lenses in digital photography...some lens manufacturer comes out with a "fast" f/2.8 zoom and everyone wets themselves...

My first shot with the M 50mm 1.7. The purpose of the shot was solely for testing high ISO but I thought i'd post it anyways.

Camera: k200D
Shutter speed: 1/50
F-stop: 1.7
ISO: 1600

Edit: Does flickr do anything to the photo? It seems very slightly sharper than the original (using the windows picture viewer) and noisier.

Helios 77 50mm f1.8 for a starter. Either I go through all my pics and hope to get the lenses right or start of fresh with pics from my 15+ 50mm lenses. You are a cruel man Rense.

We should stick to just 50mm lenses. If you say 60mm, than why not 43mm? I say stick with 50's only.

Actually, the Helios 77 is a model name for a Russian 50mm lens. I say keep it to 50mm, 55mm, and 58mm lenses however.

This was my intention, indeed. These were once the standard primes on cameras of (almost?) all brands. Besides, there are 50mm lenses that are not really 50mm, but somewhat more, or somewhat less

PS: Blue, I guess you mean the Helios 44....
