Actually this one is what I was referring 2. K-9 mistook the used above by xjjohno in his original post for a 77mm. ( 2 versions of it shown)

I love my Pentax A 50 f/1.7

Shoot at 1.7 with add of sharpen during the postwork.

Also I use a lot this lens during events with bad light.

Here is another shot where the Pentax K 50mm f/1.2 earns it's keep -1/125s@ f/1.2 ISO 100

I just picked up a 50mm f/1.4 this sunday and I was blown away by how great the lens is! I'll have some pics posted friday..

A real standard lens would be 43mm (diagonal of 24x36mm). This is why for example Pentax and Konica sold cameras with 40mm's on as standard primes, and there is also the 43mm limited and some 45mm lenses out there. If you extend your definition here as fas up as 60mm covering all the 52mm, 55mm, 57mm, 58mm lenses etc, I think you should include a 40-60mm range. Just my oppinion.

I've been trying to restore an old M42 50mm f/1.4 takumar and the b*stard won't stop down properly, I pulled the thing apart three times and adjusted the aperture actuating arm twice...at least I'm getting quicker at disassembling the damn thing....
