50mm smc - m f1.7 $70 or 50mm smc- k f1.4 $95 ?

Dunno.... I only have the M-version, and I think $70 is too much. I have no experience with the K-1.4-version, but I have quite some 50 lenses. Together they costed me less then $95.....

So, I hope you excuse me not voting!

seems most people think the same, the smc 50mm F1.4 is a great lens.

I have both. I would definitely pick the K 1.4. Superb optical quality (although the 1.7 is certainly no slouch optically either, by any stretch of the imagination), superior build quality, & much rarer than the 1.7, which you can pick up anytime in the future, should you choose to do so.

Extra viewfinder brightness and ease of focus gives the f/1.4 the win here.

Thank you to all who helped me decide.

Picked up the 1.4 on my lunch break for $95 canadian.
Now I can't wait to get home.

To the person that said both... I only wish i could affod it.
This will be my last lens till next year.
